Technical Support Engineer H/F (CDI)

Description of the role and its main responsibilities

Provide technical support to the sales team for the European customers across whole product portfolio

  • Provide technical support to the sales team and elaborate the technical recommendations to the customer
  • Help the sales team to identify new customer needs and technically support them to deliver an additive solution
  • Travel with the sales team to provide technical service to European customers
  • If required, contact the R&D team in Japan for technical recommendations

Support the sales team in promoting ADEKA additives:

  • Leverage and present existing additives technical presentations to customers
  • Develop presentations to meet specific customer requirements and support the technical discussion

Manage specific technical projects for customers

  • Provide technical input and coordinate the projects carried out in the R&D Laboratory in Japan for the European customers

Identify market needs and technical requirement

  • Gather new market needs through customer discussions
  • Communicate new market needs or data requirement to the laboratory in Japan

Market exposure

  • Participate in meetings with customers for technical discussions in collaboration with the sales team
  • Participate and represent ADEKA at conferences, fairs

 

Skills and competencies

  • Education: Master of Science in Chemistry, in Materials or in Polymers
  • A few years of experience in customer technical service
  • Experience in the field of plastic additives, or in the automotive or packaging plastic industry or in plastic recycling
  • Fluent in English, German (major asset) or/and French
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate customer requirements succinctly
  • Ability to question and listen to customers
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with different functions and nationalities
  • Curious, pro-active, structured and organized
  • Ability to work autonomously

 

Conditions

  • Home office location or possibly in the ADEKA’s offices in France
  • Some travel, mainly in Europe
