On February 11th, ADEKA held its 100 years anniversary in Tokyo at the Imperial Hotel. All employees in Japan were invited to celebrate this event in style, with a live orchestra and a traditional Japanese Lion dance to bring good luck for the future. Other events are planned in the following weeks in order to celebrate ADEKA’s centennial with an estimated 2000 people attending in total.
Previously named ASAHI DENKA, the company was created on January 27th 1917 in Japan. Initially established to offer caustic soda to the Japanese market, the company soon expanded to produce other chemicals. In 1954, the company developed its PVC additives range, followed by its extended plastic additives range in 1962. In the 1990’s, ASAHI DENKA started to take a more global approach by establishing Joint Ventures and creating affiliates around the globe. ADEKA PALMAROLE, your contact for Europe, CIS countries and Africa, was established in the year 2000 in France. Since 2006, the name ASAHI DENKA has been replaced by ADEKA.
Today, ADEKA’s plastics additives business has a global presence with affiliates spread over six continents and with more than 1000 employees. With over 500 products currently offered by ADEKA, our global expansion and our R&D projects are continuously striving to respond to the challenges of the plastics industry – today and for the next 100 years to come.
